taken

Taken is inspired by the historical epidemic of absent fathers in African American families and communities. It wrestles with the educational and economic disparities that fuel the well-oiled criminal justice machine, which continues to disproportionately imprison young Black men, leaving Black children growing up without Black fathers. It ultimately challenges the negative images, stereotypes and assumptions that perpetuate systemic racism.
